"WISDOM" IS THE PRINCIPLE THING (Proverbs 4:7)

 Proverbs 4:7 says that wisdom is the principle thing and then continues on to say that we should therefore get wisdom and that with all our getting get understanding also.  There are a number of reasons why wisdom is considered to be the most important thing.  Proverbs 3:14 says that wisdom is better than silver and gold.  Proverbs 3:15 says that wisdom is more precious than rubies and nothing that a person can desire can be compared to wisdom.  The reasons why wisdom is considered to be more precious and important to man than anything else are stated below:
 

1.      It gives the ability to make the right decision. 

2.      It gives the ability to understand the problems and the situations they are in. 

3.      It gives the ability to know the truths, (John 8:32), the secrets of God (Psalms 25:14) and the mysteries of the Kingdom of God (Matthew 13:11) 

4.      It gives the ability to give proper counsel and advice to people with problems. 

5.      It gives the ability to interpret things, dreams, visions, situations, etc. 

6.      It gives the ability to get a revelation and an enlightenment of absolute truths. 

7.      It gives the ability to be very discreet in all things. 

8.      It gives the ability to discern things, which are hidden, unclear and mysterious. 

9.      It gives us the ability to make the right judgment and the right decision.

10.    It gives the ability to speak the right words at the right time. 

11.    It gives the ability to answer any question. 

12.    It gives the ability to solve any problem. 

13.    It gives the ability to get what we need. 

14.   It helps to get all the blessings that God has promised including happiness, honor, righteousness, long life, peace, safety, promotion, strength, etc. 

15.    It helps us to all the spiritual blessings including salvation and eternal life. 

16.    It helps us to discern God’s will and to fulfill the same. 

17.    It helps us to obey God’s laws and walk in His ways. 

18.    It helps us to be sensitive to the move of the Holy Spirit and to flow with Him. 

19.    It helps us to have the mind of Christ and to have His understanding and knowledge. 

20.  It helps us to understand how God operates (i.e. Spiritual laws) so that we can deal with Him properly and maintain a good relationship with Him.
