Proverbs - Chapter 4

 (Proverbs 4:7)

I. INTRODUCTION

This chapter stresses the importance of studying the word of God diligently and obeying God's instructions strictly, to avoid evil and to enjoy blessings. 

II. PROMISES

• PROTECTION : Proverbs 4:6  Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee

• PROMOTION AND HONOR : Proverbs 4:8  Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honor, when thou dost embrace her

• GRACE AND GLORY: Proverbs 4:9  She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee

• LONG LIFE: Proverbs 4:10  Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many

• GOOD PATHS: Proverbs 4: 18 But the path of the just is as the shining light 

• LIFE AND HEALTH: Proverbs 4:22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh

• ISSUES OF LIFE : Proverbs 4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life

III. CONDITIONS 

• Proverbs 4:1  Hear the instruction of the Father

• Proverbs 4:2  Forsake not God's Law

• Proverbs 4:4  Retain my words and keep my commandments and live

• Proverbs 4:5  Get wisdom and understanding

• Proverbs 4:14 Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men

• Proverbs 4:19 The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble

IV. CONCLUSION

We must give importance and pre-eminence to the word of God, because that is were the wisdom and the teachings of the word of God are locked up!!!
