29. THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT LOVE.....
MEEKNESS

"The fruit of the spirit is Love, Joy, Peace... Meekness......." (Galatians 5:22-23)

1. What is Meekness ?

1. It is the fruit of the spirit
2. It is a sign of spiritual maturity
3. It is not weakness
4. It is a spiritual quality, which Jesus exhibited during his life on this earth (When He was accused with false charges
     He opened not His mouth to defend Himself, even though He had the ability to do so. On another occasion when He
     was arrested first, and then crucified, He could have called 10,000 angels to rescue Him, but He did not.)
5. It is not retaliating, reacting and resisting some one who falsely accuses us in spite of the fact that we have the
    ability to prove our innocence and to defend ourselves
6. It is submitting ourselves to others unconditionally
7. It is to hold our peace when we are falsely accused

2. WHY SHOULD WE BE MEEK?

1. To have peace with all men
2. Not to get upset or angry
3. To let God fight for us
4. To obey the commandment of God
5. To exhibit our spiritual maturity and growth
6. To prove that we can spiritually overcome any problem and prevail over others
7. To be able to obey and follow God's laws

3. HOW CAN WE BE MEEK?

1. By not arguing, fighting or defending when we are falsely accused by someone
2. By not opening our mouth when accused falsely, as Jesus did when he was in a similar situation
3. By using the above approaches even though we may have many other options to over come our enemy and to
prove our innocence
4. By making a firm decision to follow the rules mentioned in this section
5. By not losing our temper and getting angry
6. By not being egoistic in fighting the battle and winning the same
7. By not demonstrating our ability to prove our innocence
8. By being humble and obedient to the Lord, and let Jesus our advocate to prove our innocence and to put the accused
to shame
