24. THE BIBLICAL FOUNDATIONS OF MARRIAGE

THE BIBLICAL FOUNDATIONS OF MARRIAGE?

• God Ordained and Instituted Marriage
   
• Marriage is God's Plan and Idea
   
• Marriage is a Covenant, Promise and Commitment
   
• The Duties, Obligations, Responsibilities and Right of Husbands and Wives, are
  clearly spelled out in the Bible, which may be called as God's Laws of Marriage
   
• The three Parties to the Covenant of Marriage are the Husband, the wife and God
   

• As long as one of the spouses abide by the laws of Marriage, God will come to their
  rescue and set things right, and make the Marriage a Successful, Blessed and Happy
  one.  If one of the spouses violates the laws of marriage, the other spouse need
  not get upset and argue or fight with the other spouse to restore peace and harmony.
   

• The Spouse do not have to fight for their rights, defend themselves or accuse each
  other to be happy in their marriage.  If they will just keep the laws applicable to
  them and hold their Peace, God will fight for them and give them Victory, Peace, Joy
  and Success in their Married Life.

• Because Creation of Man and Woman as well as Marriage is the Plan of God,
  Satan is determined to destroy Marriage, by causing division, fight, misunderstanding,
  strife, hatred, bitterness etc., between the Husbands and the Wives, by lying,
  deceiving, accusing and confusing them.
   

• Satan blinds the eyes of those who do not believe God and the Word of God, so that
  they will not know the truth.  Therefore, it is important that everyone of us know,
  believe and diligently observe and do all that God has commanded us to do,
  particularly the laws concerning the Marriage so that they can enjoy the full
  blessings that God has promised and provided for them in their married life.
   

• The duties and the obligations applicable to the husbands and wives, called the Laws
  of Marriage, are listed below under the following two separate headings:

I. THE TEN COMMANDMENTS FOR "THE HUSBANDS"

• Love your wife unconditionally with God's Love.
• Treat your wife as your Best Friend, and Enjoy the Fellowship of your
  wife the most.
• Give the Highest Respect and Honor to your wife.
• Praise and Appreciate your wife often.
• Please and Satisfy your wife at any cost.
• Do Not get Angry at your wife for any reason.
• Do Not do anything that will Displease or Insult your wife.
• Do Not Criticize, Condemn or Ridicule your wife for anything.
• Do Not Argue or Fight with your wife for any reason.
• Do Not Offend or Hurt the Feelings of your Wife.

 II. THE TEN COMMANDMENTS FOR "THE WIVES"

• Give Moral and Spiritual Support to your husband.
• Encourage your husband in all of his pursuits.
• Spend Time with your husband as much as he expects.
• Agree on All Matters unless it is contrary to the Word of God.
• Respect and Honor your husband as the Lord.
• Do Not give more importance to Anything or Anybody than your own husband or
  his wishes.
• Do Not Insult or Put Down your husband for anything.
• Do Not Refuse or deny any help sought by your husband.
• Do Not Argue or Fight with your husband for any reason.
• Do Not Worry and Nag your husband for anything.
