1. WHAT IS COVETOUSNESS?

  • It is an evil spirit
  • It is a characteristic of Satan
  • It is having a desire to posses what somebody else has, at any cost
  • It is falling in love with something that some body else has
  • It is a feeling that someone develops when they see something that others
have, which is attractive to them
  • It is an influence of an evil spirit which will cause a person who covets
something someone else has, at any cost, and if necessary even steal or
kill that person to get it
  • It is something which will never give satisfaction no matter how much of
    what they have
  • It is closely related to other sins such as pride and discontentment
  • It is allowing the spirit of covetousness to influence us initially and then literally
have a strong control over us, in acting as described above
  • It is not being satisfied or contented with what we have
  • It is a sin according to the Bible
  • It is Worldliness and Materialism
  • It is the one of the Ten Commandments of God (Tenth Commandment)
  • It is being Greedy and Avaricious
2. WHY DO PEOPLE COVET?
  • Because of the influence of the Spirit of Covetousness
  • Because people are not Content with what they have
  • Because people are Greedy
  • Because the spirit of Worldliness and Materialism which is so rampant and
    wide spread in this world
  • Because Satan is trying his best to influence them through the Glamour of this
    world
  • Because people are jealous of other people who have more than what they have
  • Because the Spirit of Pride is operating in the lives of people which prompts
them to exalt themselves above where God has put them
  • Because of the Ignorance of the serious consequences of sin
  • Because of Lack of Adequate Teaching and Warning about this sin
  • Because the Benefits of Covetousness will outweigh the dire consequences
    of covetousness
3. WHAT ARE THE CONSEQUENCES OF COVETOUSNESS?
  • Because it will lead to destruction
  • Because it will be considered as a Sin for which they have pay a heavy price
    or a penalty
  • Because those who covet will be in a bondage to this sin of Covetousness
  • Because those who covet will become a Slave to this sin
  • Because what they get through Covetousness and Greed, will not give them
added real values in their lives
  • Because it is just Vanity and not Real when they grab or get something
    through Greed or Covetousness
  • Because it will lead to all kinds of Crimes such as murder, theft, war, enmity,
    jealousy, pride etc.

4. HOW CAN WE GET OVER COVETOUSNESS?

  • By having a full Revelation Knowledge about Covetousness which are
    given above
  • By knowing the serious and dire consequences of covetousness
  • By knowing the fact that the Price that they have to pay for getting more, is
much more than the Benefits they will derive
  • By knowing that it is a Serious Sin and by trying to Avoid committing this sin
  • By Examining ourselves daily to ensure that we do not covet anything as
    described above
  • By being Content with what God has blessed us with and believe that God will
abundantly supply all our needs if we only believe and ask
  • By pursuing all legal and moral avenues to get what we desire or need
  • By confessing to God our Sin of covetousness, and asking for his for his
    Forgiveness
  • By seeking Godly Counsel from the Man of God and to be prayed over, for being
Delivered from the Spirit of Covetousness
